Glass Bottle Baby

I will replace 2 plastic bottles with glass or stainless steel alternatives.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Kitchen

Use a Reusable Mug

If possible, I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.

Study

Plastic History Buff

Single-use plastics are everywhere, but that wasn't always the case. I will spend at least 10 minutes learning about the history of single-use plastics and how it became ubiquitous in our daily lives.

I will spend 15 minutes learning about the costs of fast fashion and begin trying to practice sustainable fashion in my own life.

Can the trash/refuse be used again? or repurposed for something else? Instead of using plastic bags when I pick up fruits and vegetables from the Store, I can use my cloths bags. They can be rinsed and air dried instead of using plastic.

Yes. Fresh fruit and veggies gives me more choices on what I consume to stay healthy. I choose fruits/veggies that are local and in season.

One of my favorite pictures. Calming and clean environment.

Convenience doesn't always give the results as needed. "Convenience" can harm the body and the environment. There has to be a way of achieving "convenience" at economical price and hopefully still bring value.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bedroom Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

I discovered my footprint was lower than I anticipated. Recycling clothes and "sharing" those items not worn does lower my footprint. I watched the video and also discovered that the average person wears 20% of their clothing 80% of the time. Looks like it's time to clean out my closet and stop saving those "special" items and wear them now.

    Kitchen Use a Reusable Mug
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

Using my own cup is handy and healthy. There is no guess work on having a clean and available cup.
