  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Study Say No to Styrofoam
How might styrofoam be an environmental justice and/or environmental racism issue in your community?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/31/2023 6:34 PM
In many lower areas of income, styrofoam is way more relevant because it is the cheaper alternative, especially in the restaurants around there.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Share My Actions
Have you noticed a difference in how your community, friends, and family members use plastics since you've shared your own actions?

Yeah a lot of us talk more about plastic now and it somethign we are trying to make a workplace more plastic free
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Community Tour A Waste Management Facility
Landfills and recycling centers tell us a lot about our communities and purchasing habits. What did you glean from your tour?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/27/2023 9:03 AM
That in NJ that each facility takes different plastics so at work they take different types vs what my town takes at home. So I have to be very careful what I throw in my recycling bin at home vs at work.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Travel Eating
Was this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?

This was so easy and much healthier than candy from a vending machine. I just put some apples and oranges in my car and it was so much better and I felt more energized.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Family + Pets Get Rid of Glitter
How can you and your little one exercise your creativity without creating more plastic waste?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/26/2023 12:35 PM
I try to reuse things from packages we get and also try to use what I have before buying more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Choose Reusable Food Storage
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/26/2023 12:33 PM
One of the things I try to do is always have a set of reusable silverware with me in my car.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Use a Reusable Mug
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/21/2023 6:49 AM
I try to keep it in my car that way I have the option to always use it. Most places are willing to use your cup. It is use less convenient since you can't use the drive-through.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Minimize Packaging
With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/20/2023 7:30 AM
There is so much damn plastic in the grocery store and it is hard to avoid. Everything comes in it, fish, my frozen vegan chicken nuggets, etc. Even some people individual wrap apples!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Study Buy Only What I Need
As you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?

    Gabryella Pulsinelli's avatar
    Gabryella Pulsinelli 7/19/2023 11:54 AM
On amazon prime day I only bought what I needed and it is amazing to see how much money you save not spending it on random stuff. For the long term I am going to always ask myself do I need this?
