Sherry's actions
Kitchen
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 1 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 3 piece(s) of litter each day.
Kitchen
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Kitchen
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.
Kitchen
Choose Reusable Food Storage
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Kitchen
Plastic Free Lunch Boxes
I will only pack reusable cutlery, drinkware and containers in my family's lunches to reduce plastic waste.
Kitchen
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Kitchen
Skip Plastic Bags
When possible, I will not use disposable bags when shopping, including produce bags.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Sherry Samuels 7/22/2023 2:44 PMI drove into Yellowstone Park after my meeting. Sitting on the side of the road, watching wildlife, and eating my salad (sadly, my wife got me a plastic fork not realizing I packed a reusable "science of food" multi utensil). Anyway, I cleaned up the trash from this small side pull out. It was sad that a water bottle as well as large and small trash was there, but it made me feel like I was doing my part.-
Bobbi Jo Holmes 7/25/2023 9:59 AMIt's very discouraging that people just don't understand how to throw things away properly! Thanks for cleaning up nature! :)

Sherry Samuels 7/10/2023 12:32 PMHaving a harder time getting into the rhythm this year, however, as I pack for my time away, I am packing not only mug/cup but also reusable utensils. I forgot to do that last year for the red wolf meeting but this year I remembered!-
Sherry Samuels 7/25/2023 10:13 AMMy wife always carries a reusable straw (I don't use straws). I try to keep a "Science of Eats" utensil in every bag/suitcase -
Bobbi Jo Holmes 7/25/2023 9:57 AMI have some reusable travel straws that I bring with me too, along with my reusable bottles! -
Emma Scaggs 7/13/2023 4:36 PMI also brought my reusable mug/cup on my travels! Gamechanger for avoiding plastic in transit.
