Since we are in the times of Covid, some places won't let you bring in your own bags so I just ask them to put everything back in the cart and have to show my receipt to the greeter when I leave.

Take a moment to estimate how many disposable daily contacts you may have used over the years. What would be your impact now of switching to a contact brand with a longer lifespan?

I found an eye doctor that takes the contact lenses, the packing it comes in,  and contact cases. I will try to wear my glasses more than contacts to help reduce my plastic footprint as well.

    Pets Homemade Pet Food/Treats
Does making your own pet food seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?

Yes and I’ve done it before. It’s like preparing a regular meal for me at night but it’s for my dog. Making my own treats will help reduce my plastic footprint. The ingredients come in a cardboard box and a glass container so there is not plastic involve when making treats and his main diet is produce i cut up and cook. I don’t use any produce bags, I just pick the produce out and put in my shopping cart.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Start Composting
Do an inventory of how much food waste you would save from going to the landfill if you start composting all of the time. What are the added benefits of having compost that is readily accessible?

I have a bin that I will start collecting my produce waste and donate it to a farmer in Pearland for free! I’m helping out my community by giving this farmer nutrients for their soil to farm produce that he sells back to the community!
