Fossil fuels are a major factor contributing to global warming, which is killing many species. We need to cut down on greenhouse gases.

It is devastating to see trash in the ocean which is killing so many animals and polluting our environment. There is trash floating in the ocean that is the size of Texas. This is not ok. This needs to be stopped.

    Food Skip the Straw
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

    Kaia Allen 6/11/2019 10:33 AM
It is great how more and more people are using reusable straws and refusing the plastic ones at restaurants! I feel like everyone wants to reduce the plastic footprint by not using plastic straws. By everyone doing this, I think we can truly cut out plastic and conserve our planet.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Takeout Pro
How could you mitigate issues that may arise if the restaurant does not want to let you use your own containers at first?

    Kaia Allen 6/06/2019 3:04 PM
If a restaurant does not want you using your own containers, you could try teaching them about why we need to conserve our earth and teach them about why it is bad to use materials that can not be recycled or reused. You could also choose other restaurants that support bringing and using reusable containers.

In what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?

    Kaia Allen 6/06/2019 2:59 PM
Social media is a great way of reaching out and sharing values. Lots of people can see what you post and learn from it or take action in what you are trying to promote.

I am looking forward to starting the EcoChallenge! I am already thinking about what I can do every day to help conserve our earth.
