I just got my very first grill! I feel like such an adult. I definitely did the research, and decided to spend the extra money on one that would last longer, was repairable, and had as few plastic parts as possible. I feel fortunate that I am able to make that decision. Just a musing, but I wish there were still repair shops!

In what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?

I cut up a bunch of old t-shirts and braided them together to make one really long tug toy. I also packed it into a cardboard box with a hole cut in it. Now Bug first plays "Magician with a really long scarf," and then ultimate tug of war!

I gotta say, pre-Covid, I had my anti-plastic game DOWN! I was bulk shopping, with reuseable containers, with my own produce bags, my own shopping bags. I was taking my own to-go mug everywhere. I got the container for to-go food. I repurpose, repair, share, borrow, and plain just don't buy. Making my own yogurt with milk that came in glass containers. The works. But now...so much of that is not possible, and for a valid reason, but I am discouraged. I'm hoping this challenge helps me find new ways to balance out what efforts are just not possible right now.

Do some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?

I've always avoided any deodorant with aluminum- thank you Mom. Use of aluminum has been linked to Alzheimers, and why not do my future self a favor, right?

I started making my own deodorant specifically because it is so hard to find any that doesn't have a corn product in it, which I'm crazy-allergic to. A deodorant of just coconut oil and baking soda does the trick most days. If it gets super hot again, we shall see.

Disposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?

I switched to a cup. It is a game changer! Way more comfortable for running, way less mess. I am less impacted by the economics, but I do wonder if donating the cup (which doesn't require a something like a washing machine to maintain hygiene) would be a better route to go for organizations that put together menstrual kits for those in need.
