  • Reflection Question
    Family Discover Together
What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

Globally, people recognize that there is a need to affect change, but the steps needed to make significant changes rest on countries and big corporations to come together to become plastic free. Locally, although many are becoming aware of the issue and are willing to change their habits, there is a lack of support for this effort. Becoming plastic free can only be achieved if efforts from consumers, businesses & the government are unified.

Fruits or veggies are a healthier option & generates less trash!
  • Reflection Question

Unfortunately, I have not noticed this shift in attitude. All the restaurants & fast food branches I have been to provide straws automatically.

I think partnering with local restaurants to reduce their single-use plastic would be a good project for Green Team in the near future... :)
  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

    Jem Baldisimo's avatar
    Jem Baldisimo 7/02/2021 1:08 PM
I can advocate for using reusables by intentionally bringing them everywhere I go, presenting options, & letting others discover its benefits. If others are dependent on using disposables, I’ll convince them that reusable cutlery are sturdier, cheaper in the long run & benefits the environment.

Thanks to the internet, I can post & share things I feel passionate about. Social media has opened doors for us to reach out not only to our friends & family, but to others who may come across our posts on social media.
