Last day and and sure has been a tough go round this time! I am proud I was able to finally get some zero plastic swap projects completed this year and am excited to continue this journey. I can only hope that next July we will all be in a better world that will make this challenge easier!

I've started saving glass jars from things like pickles and sauces to use as freezer storage. I now have two large glass containers, instead of plastic freezer bags, full of frozen blueberries. Of course, those blueberries came in the plastic clam shell packaging :(

That plastic clam shell packaging is a majorrrr bummer. I love your creative reuse tip though Ashley!

I finished sewing 26 reusable facial pads this weekend and put them to use in my skin-care/makeup routine. They worked great and I love that I am not filling up my trash can used cotton and plastic packaging.

I went thrift shopping this weekend for the first time since the pandemic began. Out of all the clothes I looked at I only walked away with two new things, as everything else I saw was made of plastic fibers. But I scored big on a bread machine and a new glass 9x13 pan to help with prepping plastic free freezer meals!

Woohoo! I firmly believe that there is no reason to ever spend money on a new bread machine, since there are so many brand new ones at thrift stores!

Purchased my first conditioner bar from Less Than this weekend! It worked great and left my hair feeling ah-may-zing. I am currently working on sewing my own reusable face pads/makeup remover pads from spare fabric my MIL had. So soon there will be no more cotton rounds in plastic bags for me!

I have found that I really enjoy mug cake mixes, but not the large amount of packaging they come in. Lucky me I found a DIY mix that I can make in large batches to keep on hand! Not totally plastic free/waste free, but far less packaging than the old way.

My sister-in-law just started a part-time job with Less Than, a low to zero waste company in Norfolk! They have their pop-up trailer at the Norfolk Botanical gardens right now open from 9am to 2pm through Sunday, and we hope to visit this weekend. They also have a store front in downtown Norfolk, and will be opening one in Virginia Beach soon! It is so great seeing a plastic free and low waste business opening in our area. You can find out more about the store here: https://golessthan.com/

I have literally NEVER been so excited. Hoping we can all go check it out soon. Let us know how cool it is if you make it out this weekend!
