  • Reflection Question
    Pets Invest in a Pooper-Scooper
How are caring for your pet and caring for the environment connected for you?

I love wild animals as much as I love my pet. Caring for the environment helps to take care of wild animals and keeps them safe, which is exactly what I want for my own pet.

Happy to see all of the posts everyone is sharing! Great work this week so far! :)
  • Reflection Question
    Personal Care Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Steven Brandt's avatar
    Steven Brandt 7/12/2021 7:09 AM
I can repurpose clothes that I already have and also trade clothes with friends to find new uses as opposed to purchasing new items.

I love the idea of trading clothes with friends- can make it into a fun party!
  • Reflection Question

How can/did you prepare to be successful in this action? Did you engage in conversation with anyone about your new habit?

    Steven Brandt's avatar

I can prepared for this action by making a list before packing to make sure I prepared everything as efficiently as possible. I discussed this with my girlfriend when we took a trip together.
  • Reflection Question
    Community Say No to Styrofoam
How might styrofoam be an environmental justice and/or environmental racism issue in your community?

    Steven Brandt's avatar
    Steven Brandt 7/11/2021 6:56 AM
Styrofoam is unfortunately cheep to produce and cheep to purchase so it is a staple product in many low income communities. The manufacturing and sale of styrofoam preying upon low income communities is an unfortunate example of environmental racism.
  • Reflection Question
    Pets All Natural Pet Toys
In what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?

    Steven Brandt's avatar
    Steven Brandt 7/11/2021 6:51 AM
A large portion of mass produced pet toys have a very short life before they are loved too much and destroyed. Purchasing all natural pet toys keeps my pet safe, makes me feel better about my choices, and decreases the overall waste produced by my household.

  • Reflection Question

With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

    Steven Brandt's avatar
    Steven Brandt 7/09/2021 9:46 AM
I have noticed that it is absolutely EVERYWHERE. So many products use an unnecessary amount of packaging.
  • Reflection Question

It is a pretty easy action to do! It saves money which is fantastic.
  • Reflection Question

The two main benefits of this are producing less waste and also spending less money on multiple disposable items.  I will absolutely keep this habit in my life moving forward.
