Peggy's Actions
Personal Care
Pearly Whites
I will purchase toothpaste in an aluminum tube or in a glass jar or make my own!
Food
Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
I will prepare 1 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Lifestyle
Reusable Face Coverings
Disposable masks are made of mixed materials and not recyclable. When possible, I will reduce my waste while protecting myself and others by wearing a reusable face covering when in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.

Reflection QuestionLifestyle Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Peggy Brannigan 7/03/2020 2:45 PMI'll never think about plastic the same way, after watching "The Story of Plastic." It's a powerful film taking you around the world to see how the environment is harmed when the raw material (oil) is extracted, when the plastic item is produced, and shipped, and used once, and thrown away - ending up in landfill or ocean or someone's neighborhood.-
Dana Jennings 7/21/2020 9:27 AMAgree! I'm so glad we got that in our movie club. I am thinking about it constantly now and how individual consumers have very few choices... it's all about the industry and packaging!
