I will spend 30 minutes learning about how plastic pollution affects members of my own community and how organizations in my community are working for change.

I will give a shout-out on social media to a local company, coworker, friend or family member for their plastic free or green efforts.

I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).

I will keep 3 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.

If traveling, I will bring my own snacks and meals in my own containers to avoid the waste of take-out containers.

To the extent allowable in my community, I will either line my trash cans with repurposed newspaper or paper bags, or I will not line my trash cans at all.

Disposable masks are made of mixed materials and not recyclable. When possible, I will reduce my waste while protecting myself and others by wearing a reusable face covering when in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

I will pick up 5 piece(s) of litter each day while following the CDC’s current guidelines for prevention of disease transfer.

I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
