Easier for me to reduce plastic being retired. Much harder for young working families caught up in their busy lives.

Using less plastic, but it is hard since everything in the store is plastic

I went on my plastic rampage in April. I went into every cabinet and made notes of my worst offenders... under my sink: hand soap, dish soap, soft scrub. In my laundry cabinet: laundry soap, fabric softener, bleach. I my cleaning cabinet: windex, spray cleaners, floor cleaners, wood cleaners etc. I searched "zero waste", "plastic free". Lots of those stores are very niche and quite expensive. I found one store that had EVERY thing I needed to replace my biggest offenders. I set up an account with my email and instantly they added lots of FREE products to my cart. I built my cart from there. IMPORTANT: I unchecked "subscribe" from each product in my cart so I pick and choose what ships when I want it. The initial expense was a bit high but it was the reusable glass dispensers and gass sprayers that will not replace. I have been using the product concentrates (add water) since May 1st.... I still don't need a thing! No shopping, no driving, no hunting out stores required. They even send prepaid postage label to return the little glass bottles for reuse. Good Luck! You got this!

As consumers we need to get these companies to switch from plastic to aluminum and other materials to package our food, health & beauty items and pet essentials.

When I walk the beach in Puerto Penasco, I always carry a bag to collect plastic waste. I also collect plastic when I walk the forests of Flagstaff.
