"It's crucial that the climate movement centers racial justice and the needs of frontline communities, and truly reflects the scale of the compounding emergencies of the climate crisis, inequality, and injustice."

Reflection QuestionLifestyle Travel EatingWas this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?
Anna-Marie Guenther 7/17/2020 9:47 PMThis action is especially tricky in the COVID era. Many restaurants decline requests to use reusable containers brought by customers in fear of cross-contamination or the possibility of infection (totally valid). For the few restaurants allowing dine-in, I encourage customers to bring reusable containers with them in case they are unable to finish their meal. This avoids creating unnecessary food and packaging waste.-
Lora Jones 7/18/2020 1:15 PMYes, that has been my plan too...Order extra when dining in and take out in our own glass containers.

Reflection QuestionPersonal Care Brusha Brusha BrushaWhat are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?
Anna-Marie Guenther 7/17/2020 9:41 PMSince switching to bamboo toothbrushes, which has been a bit of an investment compared to standard plastic toothbrushes, I am more conscious of utilizing the product for its entire lifespan instead of mindlessly disposing of it whenever convenient. Bamboo toothbrushes require more care as I have to either snap off the part of the brush with the bristles or pull them out (which is extremely tedious) to compost the bamboo handle. This process encourages me to give some more thought to how long my disposable products will take to decompose or be recycled appropriately relative to how long I used it.
