Thank you so much to all of you who have joined us for Plastic Free July! I've loved getting to read all your stories about what you've been doing to reduce your plastic consumption and help the environment and I know I'll continue to use everything I've learned even when the challenge is over. I hope to see you all back here next year!

Disposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?

Maybe this is TMI but I'm kind of excited to try this. I was hesitant for a long time but I know its going to be better for both the environment and my health.

Whenever I think of plastics, I always used to think about the litter on the ground or in the oceans but this challenge has really made me think differently about how I use plastics in my day to day life and just how pervasive they are. When this challenge is over, I'll continue to do my best to reduce the amount of waste I create but I also think it's important to reach out to companies and policy makers to show them that they need to change too.

Together we've picked up more than 1000 pieces of litter! It breaks my heart to see so much trash in the environment (particularly so close to a river) but it makes me feel better to know that so many people are out there trying to make it better.

It was so exciting to see how many people showed up for the river sweep yesterday. I love getting to work with so many people who care about our environment!

Always take more reusable bags into the store than you think you're going to need. I always tell myself I'm only going to need one bag for just a couple things and it's never true.

There's a great podcast on Spotify called How to Save a Planet co-hosted by a marine biologist. They talk about all things climate change including plastic pollution.

I keep a set of reusable utensils at work so I never have to use plastic for lunch but after getting some fast food on my day off yesterday, I'm going to get a small set to keep in my purse so I can save on plastic while I'm out too.
