Awareness of plastic trash is elevated. I plan on getting a gripper to pick up on my daily walks. sadly there is a lot. But every effort helps!

I've been using our pet food bags as receptacles for the trash I pick up. Depending on what I pick up, they're reusable several times over because of the thick plastic used. :)

Participating in this challenge is certainly raising my awareness of how much one use plastic is related to food. Esp snack or single-serving items. I am embarrassed to say that when plastic bottles came out for ketchup, I begged my folks to buy over glass. (Why did I even notice that as a kid?" That was ~40 years ago.
I shudder to think about how we were duped into "new" and "lightweight" and drank bottled water from the TAP at premium drink prices.  Making good-tasting ketchup is hard. So I am glad to see companies bottling in glass, back in the condiment aisle. Cost is twice as much...
    Anyhoo! Carry on my friends.

I am going to make my BBQ sides instead of purchasing deli/prepared foods. I mean, how hard can potato, mac and fruit salad be? Cheers to a safe and happy 4th! Make your own parade :)

I am excited to participate and be focused on the plastics in my daily life. I pledge to buy nothing all month with plastic (if non-essential) Sterile items would be essential. Yes, we can, together! <3

Jacqui: Your webinar was excellent. Easy to go to overwhelm but I appreciated the idea of going beyond recycling and towards less waste overall!

I chose this one, too, and I have to admit it'll probably be the hardest one for me!!
