Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bedroom Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

Reuse certain clothes/accessories in different ways to create new and creative looks.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Study Buy Only What I Need
As you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?

I will need to keep the "health and safety" purchases a priority, even after this challenge is over. This will not only help the environment, but my bank account as well... It will benefit the environment, and myself, in multiple ways!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Family + Pets Balloons Blow
Had you ever considered the environmental impact of balloons before? How can you share this information with your friends and family to encourage them to avoid balloons, too?

I had never considered this before... It's fun to release them, but I never thought about the impact once the balloon falls back to the ground. Although balloons should be avoided all together, I would encourage those who use them to not release them, but find another way to dispose of them once they are done with their use. Obviously still not an "optimal" solution, but at least it would solve some problems.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Go Strawless
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

I really haven't seen much change in the community about reusable straws... There is a lot (locally) about plastic bags, but not as much about straws. I will say that I have been to places that use compostable/recyclable straws, but they tend to get soggy so they are hard to use at times. I would be nice for them to come up with a better product to promote more use!
