Shane's actions
Bedroom
Ditch Dryer Sheets
I will use wool dryer balls or another plastic-free alternative to dryer sheets to keep my clothes static-free.
Kitchen
Go Strawless
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own reusable straw.
Kitchen
Glass Bottle Baby
I will replace 6 plastic bottles with glass or stainless steel alternatives.
Kitchen
Eco-Friendly Laundry Detergent
One of my friends introduced me to these laundry sheets. This eliminates the big plastic bottle that most laundry detergents come in. My friend gave me a few of these sheets to try and I really liked them. I ordered me some and they just came in today.
Kitchen
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 6 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Kitchen
Choose Reusable Food Storage
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Kitchen
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.
Kitchen
Plant a Garden
I will plant an herb or vegetable garden using as little plastic as possible and to save from the plastic used buying herbs and veggies.

Shane McRoy 7/24/2023 1:24 PMI have been changing the way I store and wrap things in the kitchen lately. I use to put everything in plastic ziploc bags. I literally would have like 5 different size bags. My favorite ones were the snack size. But, those are a thing of the past for me now. No more saran wrap and plastic zip lock bags! Check out these new recyclable paper bags I purchased! :) -

Shane McRoy 7/10/2023 3:07 PMDina - Yes, they take up less room when storing than even dryer sheets, and they completely dissolve in the wash. No mess! :) -
Dina Lomagno 7/10/2023 11:02 AMI love this! So they dissolve right in the dryer with no mess?

REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchen Use a Reusable MugSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
