  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Containers
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

I buy the large yogurt containers, and use them for plant pots.

I do that, or crush shells I find broken on the beach, put hot glue all over the pot and roll in the shells.

Ooo I bet if you wanted to you could spray paint them to make them look fancier too!
  • Reflection Question
    Community Keep My Community Clean
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

I walk a lot all over the Island, and take a bag with me to pick up trash. I think, sometimes we all think that, maybe as an individual,  the small things we do don't really make a difference.  But if you visualize everyone else picking up 1 piece for every piece you pick up.
    How amazing would that be.
That's why we have to push this and stand up for no plastic.
    Let's make it happen.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

Planting a garden benefits in so many ways. You can feed your family. You can feed the birds, butterflies, bees, so many that depend on plants. You enrich the soil, which is so important now. And you enrich your soul. I'm never happier than when my hands are in the dirt.

Aw what a beautiful way to look at that... love that so much, my mom would hands down agree!

I love to garden even though I'm not very good at it.  My son only eats tomatoes off the vine.  I think he sees them as a completely different vegetable than the ones you buy in the store.  In some ways, he is right!
  • Reflection Question
Food Say No to Plastic Bags
How difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?

I'm so glad I bought the new reusable bags not made from plastic. This has really reduced my plastic usage immensely.
