Anna's Actions

Personal Care

Say No to "Flushable Wipes"

  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

During COVID I've noticed many businesses and restaurants switched to plastic utensils. I've tried to carry my own utensils (from my camping gear), so that I can politely decline the plastic utensils. At times, I just chose to use my fingers. Sometimes I forget, but hey the smallest reductions by many people can make an impact!
  • Reflection Question
    Food Give Up Gum
Why do you chew gum? What habits could replace and meet your reasons for chewing gum?

I chew gum in the audit room. I've noticed during covid a chew gum less often and don't miss it. As I've started going back to the office, I'm finding myself looking for a gum fix again. I think its a habit of wanting to make sure my breath is fresh in meetings and around other people. The best alternative I can think of is carrying mints not packaged in plastic.

Went for a roadtrip with friends and stopped for Sonic. Had a hard time skipping the straw with my Slushie. It makes me consider keeping a stash of reusable straws in my purse or the glove box.
