It allows my friends, like minded people, to see what I am participating in and be encouraged to participate as well!

In what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?

My pet goes through stuffed animals so fast! He is a SUPER CHEWER! I have started buying inexpensive stuffed animals from thrift stores. This allows us to re-use an item that someone already got use out of, and saves me money! Since we are not buying a new toy, we are saving more waste from he landfill.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Containers
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

I like using glass tupperware because it allows me to pack one meal in each container and warm it up safely all together without emptying it onto a plate and dirtying another dish! I HATE doing dishes!

I have noticed some businesses that do not offer straws unless you specifically ask for one. I appreciate that!

Once I had a re-usable set of silverware and re-usable sandwich bags, this step was easy! I just pack along a little sponge and soap to clean them up!

I went camping over the weekend and really tried to be conscious about limiting my waste in general. I was able to use bamboo silverware from the gift shop at the Butterfly House and Aquarium for eating and reusable plates and bowls. I stored some of our food in re-usable sandwich bags, and we packed our own water bottles. The dog waste bags I have are compostable, and the camping site offered recycling for our empty drink cans! My camping friends used some paper plates, but I told them where to get the reusable ones we use. I want to invest in an environmentally safe soap for washing dishes in a camping setting. Any suggestions?

You can try products from places like Terra Shepherd downtown. She has a wealth of supplies that would help with cleaning on the go including powdered soaps for dishes without chemicals.
