Chris's Actions
Community
Write Letters or Emails
I will write 1 letter(s) or email(s) per day to a public official or company to advocate for plastic reduction policies that are better for both the planet and people.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Lifestyle
Buy Only What I Need
I will not buy anything except items required for health and safety.
Pets
Invest in a Pooper-Scooper
I will swap out my single use plastic bags for a pooper-scooper.
Food
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 5 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Lifestyle
Reusable Face Coverings
Disposable masks are made of mixed materials and not recyclable. When possible, I will reduce my waste while protecting myself and others by wearing a reusable face covering when in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Reflection QuestionCommunity Write Letters or EmailsHow might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems - like plastic pollution - differently?
Chris Pamenter 7/31/2020 8:32 AMThe more ideas the better, and an idea from one person could spark and idea in another person that leads to action and we are off and running! -
Chris Pamenter 7/31/2020 8:30 AMLast day of the competition, congrats - we are all winners for participating! -
Reflection QuestionPets Invest in a Pooper-ScooperHow are caring for your pet and caring for the environment connected for you?
Chris Pamenter 7/30/2020 8:49 AMCleaning up pet waste has a positive affect on the environment and people's lives. Flies, smell, squishy poop between the toes if you step in it are all negatives that take a toll on the earth and people's day! It is the responsible thing to do.

Reflection QuestionLifestyle Buy Only What I NeedAs you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?
Chris Pamenter 7/29/2020 7:55 AMI noticed that being locked in had a significant impact on spending by not eating out. And it was WAY healthier to be eating at home. -
Chris Pamenter 7/29/2020 7:55 AMHappy Humpday!!! Go do your Eco thing with Vigor -
Reflection QuestionLifestyle Reusable Face CoveringsIn what other ways can you use creativity or innovation to reduce your waste while adapting to our current times?
Chris Pamenter 7/28/2020 8:23 AMI bought the family reusable cloth facemasks so we were not using disposable ones, even though we used them multiple times. We can wash these whenever we want and they are easy to cover the entire face. -
Reflection QuestionFood Use Reusable ContainersHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Chris Pamenter 7/28/2020 8:22 AMBe conscious of what you are using at all times and make the right choices. -
Chris Pamenter 7/28/2020 8:18 AMIt's Taco Tuesday! Hope you find some plastic free tacos to enjoy today. Don't forget to say no to the straw. -
