Yeah! day 31 is here.  Team ZNE really showed the rest who is the best!
  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Containers
How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

    Jason Platt 7/31/2019 12:12 PM
I just want to point out that some of these reflection questions are not easy to answer.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Lobby for Reusables
What are some of the cases you could make to an employer for why switching to durable dishes and utensils is actually in their best interest as well?

    Jason Platt 7/31/2019 12:11 PM
cost savings #1. the initial cost of may be a little more but in the long run the savings will happen and the larger picture of reduced waste.
  • Reflection Question
Personal Care Pretty oh so Pretty
How can you advocate for the importance of reducing packaging to the rest of your friends, family and larger community?

    Jason Platt 7/31/2019 12:07 PM
by walking the walk.  if you want people to respond to your advocacy you must first prove that you are doing your part.
  • Reflection Question
    Personal Care Lather Up
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

    Jason Platt 7/28/2019 6:52 AM
I hate bar soap and have no use for shampoo but I use refillable soap all the time as it is generally cheaper to buy in bulk.
  • Reflection Question
    Pets Pet Waste
By composting your pet waste, you are turning waste into nutrients to feed the soil. In what other ways can you turn waste into a resource in your life?

    Jason Platt 7/28/2019 6:51 AM
hmmm I've always heard you can burn dried up cow patties... Nah that is just gross.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Use Reusable Water Bottles
Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?

    Jason Platt 7/28/2019 6:48 AM
call your local representative and have them take action.

  • Jason Platt 7/28/2019 6:46 AM
I predict by the end of today we will have taken second place.  Lets make it happen!
  • Reflection Question
Food Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
Single use plastics have become normalized in our society to the point that most people don't see them as a problem. What would you say to a friend, colleague, or family member who may not understand why these disposables are an issue?

    Jason Platt 7/27/2019 12:58 PM
Open your eyes,  plastic waste is everywhere. Oceans, side of the road it won't disappear without your help
