Merry Rankin 7/29/2020 10:45 AMI continue to be overwhelmed by how many components of life have plastic imbedded in them. However, this Challenge has reminded me to not feel like I have to accomplish everything at once, rather to just to committed to being observant, making change (even is seemingly small) and keep moving forward. -
Merry Rankin 7/24/2020 8:06 AMPlastic free meal has been one of the biggest challenges for me. Not necessarily main ingredients, but the side components... rice, macaroni, the spices, cheese. Has me definitely learning more about what my local grocers offer in products and services. -
Reflection QuestionFood Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste MealDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Merry Rankin 7/21/2020 12:46 PMDefinitely a little easier pre-COVID, as far as shopping and not using plastic bags for produce. At least many of our grocery stores are still not allowing reusable bags - either in general or for produce. Definitely makes me further consider meal planning. -

Merry Rankin 7/21/2020 12:43 PMWhat a great idea!! VERY effective!! And with something that has multi-uses! Very effective for getting pet hair off of upholstered furniture too. -
Merry Rankin 7/07/2020 8:29 AMSO many plastics in life! -
Reflection QuestionPersonal Care Pretty oh so PrettyHow can you advocate for the importance of reducing packaging to the rest of your friends, family and larger community?
Merry Rankin 7/02/2020 9:30 AMI have been looking for personal care products for years to help me get away from plastic. It takes time, but the internet is so helpful in finding discussion groups and connecting to others trying to do the same thing. It is really a great feeling to not put ANYTHING in the trash when I finish using the products that are in sustainable packaging materials!!
