Reflection QuestionCommunity Share My ActionsHave you noticed a difference in how your community, friends, and family members use plastics since you've shared your own actions?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:36 PMI’ve definitely made my family cut down on their plastic use. They use reusable bags whenever they go grocery shopping. ( if they remember lol)-
Shelley Shrader 7/30/2022 7:16 AMHey Diego! This is great! Is there any other ways your family could reduce more waste? It doesn't have to be just plastic, it can be any item that y'all end up throwing away!

Reflection QuestionFood Use Reusables at WorkIt is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:35 PMWe can lead by example by just simply doing it! Often times people see others & take it into consideration. Sometimes you don’t even need to say a word. You could also encourage others to follow in your steps, but simply doing it yourself is the first step!-
Shelley Shrader 7/30/2022 7:17 AMI agree! What changes have you made this month that you'll continue to do after the challenge is over?

Reflection QuestionCommunity Learn about Plastic ProductionWhat did you learn about how plastic production impacts humans, animals, communities, and the environment? Which of these impacts specifically affects your community?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:31 PMPlastic is such an overlooked issue for an animals of the world. Personally in my community i see tons of trash on sides of roads/ next to rivers as i live very close to rivers. These items can end up hurting our aquatic friends if they fly into the waters.-
Shelley Shrader 7/30/2022 7:18 AMDo you ever pick up the trash?

Reflection QuestionCommunity Research Local Waste SitesIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:29 PMI’ve discovered that there is 2 locations super close to me ! I will for-sure be using them a lot more. -
Reflection QuestionFood Skip Plastic BagsHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:28 PMThis challenge wasn’t hard at all. We’ve already had a stash of reusable bags for the longest, but I’ve been using them a lot more after doing research on plastic effects in our environment. -
Reflection QuestionLifestyle Support a Sharing EconomyWhat are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:26 PMThey’re so many benefits to pushing a sharing economy. I’ve gotten several friends hooked on to becoming more eco friendly with their daily actions. -
Reflection QuestionFood Cook a Plastic Free MealDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Diego Rodriguez 7/25/2022 6:26 PMI’ve noticed over the past few weeks/ month of July that in my house we’ve used tons plastics instead of reusable containers, so I’ve been pushing/and replacing them! -
Reflection QuestionPersonal Care Eco DeodorantDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Diego Rodriguez 7/20/2022 8:12 PMI’ve been using an aluminum free deodorant for quite some time already. I’m actually allergic to it, so switching to a plastic free/eco friendly deodorant hasn’t been hard at all. -
Reflection QuestionCommunity Give Some Green GratitudeIn what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?
Diego Rodriguez 7/08/2022 4:17 AMSocial Media is an effective tool for sharing values because it may aspire another to join in on the movement too! People may not been exposed to movements like this before so seeing a random post might just change their mind! -
Reflection QuestionLifestyle Buy Only What I NeedAs you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?
Diego Rodriguez 7/06/2022 7:21 AMI’ve noticed that i would spend alot more than needed on items from stores & those things would be bad for the environment. I’m spending less now & only getting what i need !
