As you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?

During a pandemic it is easier to not buy what you don't need because I am not going out to stores where there are impulse buys.

I recently went camping. I put toiletries smaller reusable containers.

Got my parents  to wait to eat their icecream until we got to our campsite so we didn't have to use the plastic spoons from the store. Big win for me and major restraint from my parents :)

I've been buying my milk in cartoons instead of plastic containers. I hope they have less plastic? My regular grocery store does not have milk in glass which would be best.

I have been requesting that my groceries not get bagged at checkout. Then I just take them out to my car in my cart and bag them in my reusable bags there. It is sad to see some of the plastic bag bans have gone to the wayside during this pandemic.

How can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?

Have had the same box of sandwich bags for many years now. I have rewashed the ones I have and they have held up. So although I am using some now they have become a reusable item. I don't think I would buy them in the future once these wear out.  I also reuse plastic bags from packaging. The plastic bags from cereal boxes are very sturdy. Just use a wooden clothes pin to keep it shut.

That's awesome. I reuse my plastic baggies too. Good idea for the cereal bags.
