Community Tour A Waste Management Facility
Landfills and recycling centers tell us a lot about our communities and purchasing habits. What did you glean from your tour?

My new town has more limited recycling in single-stream than my former town, but the transfer station also has a metal recycling bin that takes large objects, an electronics bin for fairly low prices to responsibly recycle, a yard waste area and a swap shop. I also learned that too many non-recyclables turns an entire load into trash instead, so community educaton is key.
