    There's a lot of extra packaging for a lot of food. I've seen stores where they wrap individual cucumbers in plastic, then package them in a group of three so it's plastic within plastic. The plastic also impacts the shelf life since moisture is trapped, promoting mold growth. This causes not only plastic waste, but also food waste.

    It's been a positive experience to share some of these tips and plastic free solutions with my family.

    I have so much rhubarb!  I had family members over and we made muffins, rhubarb crisp and a rhubarb upside down cake. We shared what we made and the baked goods all went to other's homes in reusable containers.
