When making pasta I use the glass sauce jar to put the left overs in. I did not think about using it after that for something else until I read one of the articles. I have also used glass pickle jars and other glass jars for propagating my plants!

I wasn't surprised but it is a good reminder to stay up to date on what items your recycling facility will accept and to reduce your consumption of plastics as much as possible.

Have you heard about the Plastic Pollution Coalition? You can sign up to receive their updates and information about how plastic pollutes! Here is an article from their latest update: https://www.plasticpollutioncoalition.org/blog/2023/7/21/in-our-real-world-barbies-plastic-is-not-so-fantastic

We purchase a lot! I watched the video about the recycling facility. It just reminded me how luck we are to have a similar one right here in Grimes. Here's a link to their tour: https://www.thinglink.com/card/1529594367159828481

Less plastic and packaging are a bonus! I also feel like it is cheaper but the market varies in price for many products. I stopped using conditioner last month. Its been a tangley ride but I think my hair is much happier. I plan to try a shampoo bar once my current bottle runs out!

Plastics stay with us in many different forms. Once they break down they enter the waterways and end up in numerous parts of our lives. Plastic items have a long lifespan and don't breakdown completely. Plastic matter has been found in humans and animals.

It's easy! I just hang on to any containers and continue to refill them with products purchased in bulk.

It seems that the first image that pops in my mind when I think of plastic pollution and who it affects is a sea turtle or fish. But what it I told you rhinos are also feeling the impacts of plastic and microplastics in their environment? The latest newsletter from the International Rhino Foundation has some surprising (probably shouldn't be)...

I could be better about making sure I freeze some of their treats if I make too many. When I need to throw out a T-shirt (becasue it is not good enough to donate) I want to look at make a dog toy out of it!
