    My packing was a little more thoughtful, but ultimately it wasn’t too much more preparation than normal for a trip, just more awareness!I did have a conversation with some family members I was visiting about my attempts at not using plastics when I travel. Not sure I convinced them to do the same, but I think any increased awareness is good!

    This was an awesome experience that really made me consider what more I can do to avoid plastic and waste in general. It’s been fun, team! Let’s keep up the effort after the challenge is over!

    For my son's birthday party, I told guests that they needn't bring a gift, but if they wanted to, please don't bring a gift made of plastic. We also used no disposable items of any kind at the party--just regular plates, cups and silverware that I could wash in the dishwasher.     I have switched basically all of my toiletries to bars now, which meant I didn't need to take them out or put them in a clear plastic bag like you do with liquids. It actually  makes travelling easier! I will definitely continue to do this.

    This was a little harder than I thought it would be--it required reminding myself when I was tempted to grab something quick and easy that I had already packed plastic-free snacks, and I needed to stick to those! It also required a little more prep to make sure I had any meals/snacks I needed ahead of time.

    Living in a state the borders the Pacific, I'm more aware of plastic waste in the ocean. I grew up in a landlocked state and figured none of MY plastic was ending up in the ocean, but I consider it more now!
