I’ve been watching the Down to Earth series on Netflix and just finished the episode in London where they highlighted the litter along the Thames River. Interestingly, they shored up one section of the bank with old war ships (barges?) to prevent erosion, which have become nesting structures for birds.

Easy-peasy, been doing this for many years. Only difficult part was getting into the habit of taking the bags out of the trunk when going into the store

Food Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

I tried using my reusable mug at Bruegger's yesterday and unfortunately they said they cannot accept reusables at this time. Thankfully I started making my own milk tea a while ago to save money, so I think I'll do the same with iced coffee, and start perfecting my technique!

I’m loving this challenge! It helps me stay more aware to little things I can do to help make a big difference. I’ve also been searching for books such as The Zero Waste Lifestyle to learn more

My friend actually bought the book, "How to Give Up Plastic" - I'll have to see if she recommends it!

I haven’t noticed any changes in my community, but this goes to show that I need to keep talking, sharing, and getting the information out there.

I have noticed that some places (shout out to Sitwell's Coffee House) give out paper straws! Super nice to get an iced coffee on these blistering hot days!

Personal Care Fresh as a Daisy
Do some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?

I wonder if it may be causing some itching, and skin irritation.

I was surprised that even though my footprint was much smaller than the average American, it was still larger than other countries.

When I forget to bring my reusable bags into the grocery store (this happen quite often), I put the groceries right back into my cart after checking out and bag them at my car.
