Michigan Eco Warriors

I haven't been buying any makeup for many reasons 1. It's a pandemic  2. I'm not working and I'm just at home 3. Makeup requires a lot of work and it's too hot to do that 4. I really have to be aware what's in my makeup because of my sensitive skin and my values of no animal testing 

Long term I would like to get back into buying things that are durable (will last more than a few uses), sustainable (if possible), recyclable vs landfill, and just saying no if its not something I absolutely need 

How's everyone's first week going? I've definitely more aware of my plastic consumption (especially during the pandemic) and trying to find ways to decrease while also not risking my health and safety

As promised, I completed my waste audit! The biggest proponents in my landfill waste were paper towels (in the process of switching to unpaper towels), food wrappers (chips, rice, any food that comes in a bag), chicken/turkey containers (there isn't a good meat market by me so I get the prepackaged ones from the grocery store) and finally...

Success! I had brunch with my cousin today and was able to use my reusable straw when ordering cold-brew coffee!

I've made it my goal this weekend to start another waste audit to see where and how I can cut down my landfill waste
