Woo hoo! Last day! I am so proud of everyone and the effort NAQ has put in! We have all come together with a common goal and made a difference and I think that is amazing!

Thank you so much to all of you who have joined us for Plastic Free July! I've loved getting to read all your stories about what you've been doing to reduce your plastic consumption and help the environment and I know I'll continue to use everything I've learned even when the challenge is over. I hope to see you all back here next year!

I really enjoy how much this challenge has opened my eyes to all the conservation minded people I am surrounded by. It’s a very uplifting feeling!

I have really enjoyed Plastic Free July! This has allowed me to be more mindful about the products I am using, and it has given me time to sign petitions and read up on research and information that will help me both in work and in my personal life! This has also helped me understand that I don't have to be doing everything perfect to make an impact! Overall, this challenge was really fun and I am excited to carry this with me until next July!

As we wrap up plastic free month, my favorite action i've made a habit is to replace my dryer sheets with wool dryer balls.  They keep my clothes static free and keep trash out of the environment!  Feel free to share you're favorite eco-friendly tip with me!

    Personal Care Dam the Flow
Disposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?

Maybe this is TMI but I'm kind of excited to try this. I was hesitant for a long time but I know its going to be better for both the environment and my health.

My daughter and I just purchase some "Thinx" brand underwear!

Whenever I think of plastics, I always used to think about the litter on the ground or in the oceans but this challenge has really made me think differently about how I use plastics in my day to day life and just how pervasive they are. When this challenge is over, I'll continue to do my best to reduce the amount of waste I create but I also think it's important to reach out to companies and policy makers to show them that they need to change too.

With two days in the plastic free challenge, what new habits have you adopted?

I started using bar soap instead of soap that comes in plastic container!

How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

Together we've picked up more than 1000 pieces of litter! It breaks my heart to see so much trash in the environment (particularly so close to a river) but it makes me feel better to know that so many people are out there trying to make it better.
