My thoughts and feelings are that I cannot spend too much energy thinking about it because I can only control my own actions. I can lead by example and try to do it in such a way that others don't feel criticized so that if they choose, they can decide to make positive changes on their own and feel they have ownership of those choices

Balloons are non-necessary and it would be nice if people acted like it, but I cannot control others. I hosted a community cleanup last year and was appalled at how many balloons we found out in the woods and on the side of the road. I doubt I will ever buy a balloon for the rest of my life.
