    Started making my own about a year ago. The initial purchase of containers is the same but you are reducing the amount of plastic by reusing the same cleaning bottles.

    Too many plastic water bottles. Switching to a refillable water bottles would cut down a lot on waste. When I had a girl scout troup, my Girl Scouts had to bring their own refillable water bottles to meetings and events.

    It is harder to reduce plastic when you are traveling because almost everything you buy is stored or wrapped in plastic.

    Since I learned more about the numbers, I realized that my township recycles #5 plastics and I can recycle my yogurt containers and other #5 plastics (so does my office building even though the city we are in does not).

    I learned that we use a lot of unneccesary plastic in our lives and by modifying our habits a little, we can cut down on a lot of waste.

    Prefer to use regular cutlery to plastic and don't have to worry about ingesting plastic along with food.

    A lot of the time when I shop, I do so on a whim and unfortunately, forget my bags at home. When this happens, I shop with a cart and then just put my grocery items haphazardly in the passenger seat. It is not the easiest thing to do, but it does help the environment.
