This is amazing! I didn't know I could recycle my contact lenses and those pesky little containers they come in. There's not a plastic-free option for us who have to wear contacts, so this is a great option.

On Saturday I packed all of my own snacks (homemade and mostly from bulk bins)  in reusable containers for a day hike and remembered to pack a cloth napkin. It was my first hike completely plastic free and I did not stop for take out on the way instead waited to have a good meal at home! a plastic free win!

Especially during covid it has been harder to reduce packaging when purchasing food. We purchase mostly produce and purchase any meat from places that use the compostable packing trays.

I think the most effective is modeling the behavior and sharing my experience. Currently, it is harder to reduce packaging and people like convenience so, have to find "the why" for people to catch on.

I discontinued buying and using TJ's conditioner that comes in a plastic tube that is not recyclable. I also purchased soap that has no packaging at all! I will start purchasing bar shampoo and look for conditioner that is bar or is in a recyclable container.
