Packing zero waste lunches has become a habit for me and the kids. We are able to avoid unhealthy food wherever we go. We bring our own utensils and containers for takeout as well.

I bought a dozen metal forks at a discount store for $5 and put them by the sink at my workplace. I put up a sign to let people know they are there so people can wash and reuse these indefinitely and stop using the plastic forks provided by the company. Due to schedule conflicts we changed the date of the landfill tour to Monday July 24th at 10. Please ask around to see if we can get a full group of around 12 people. I reached out to others outside the team but no takers yet. Thank you.

Great article from the New Yorker about three newish books about plastic. I've read the first two, A Poison Like No Other and Wasteland already and I'm reading A Year of No Garbage on Hoopla from the library right now. I recommend all three!

Start of the month right. Think about all your purchases and try to make them all plastic free!

Hi, I'll be organizing the landfill tour this year. July 10th at 10am looks like a good time for most. Please email me if you can make this tour. If you can't and want a new date please send request. Thank you Eileen
