I worry about how our actions and the actions of large industries today will negatively impact future generations.

I participated in a green event that talked about contacts and many of our bathroom products a few years ago, since then I have switched to a monthly brand of contacts as well as trying to recycle more bathroom products

Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

The little things that we do today can really impact the future.  We are a "in your face" culture so if it isn't something we see on the daily, it is not something we always think about.   I feel like every time we educate ourselves we grow a little more greener for the world.

Before this eco challenge..I didn't understand the depth of damage from my decisions and purchases.  Sure...I thought about the obvious plastic bags and bottles.   But never would I have thought about cosmetic packages.   Even something soo small...is a big problem.  I will give more...indepth thought to all my purchases and make more effort to recycle...and reuse everything.   Ditching all my current cosmetics and going to a sustainable brand.  Made an online purchase today.( from Antonym) Looking forward to new products.

Tampa Bay sustainability initiatives often focus on the ways animals and ecosystems are impacted by pollution. The article I read discussed the ways that pollution has a greater negative impact on low income and marginalized people and communities. In the future, we should include social justice issues in our conversations about sustainability and prioritize initiatives that address inequalities.

I watched Wasted! A Story about Food Waste.
There is so much food being Wasted in the world due to it not meeting supermarket standards of "beauty". The documentary went into ways to reduce the sheer amount. One solution is to face the problem of what is known as "ugly produce". There are companies that are popping up and selling perfectly good produce, but they just grew differently than expected called Misfit Market.
