It's the last day of July, but I'm excited to keep up my actions beyond this month.

Can we make it to 150k team points??
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

I have encountered such a small amount of litter in my daily life this year, so it makes me proud of my community!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom Green Beauty
How can you advocate for the importance of reducing packaging to the rest of your friends, family and larger community?

Sharing hope and success is more powerful than doom and gloom. When I find products or companies that use sustainable practices such as reduced packaging, I recommend them to others.

Less than one week to go! What actions are you looking forward to continuing past July? I was not able to try as many plastic-reducing scratch recipes as I wanted this month, so I plan to keep trying new things like making my own tortillas.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen Try a New Recipe
How do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?

    Sinclair Boggs 7/21/2023 8:14 AM
I love trying new recipes and getting creative in the kitchen. Time is really the limiting factor for me in making my own items from scratch instead of buying premade.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Study Follow the Chasing Arrows
Recycling right requires both systemic change and personal and community awareness. How can you expand what you've learned about the chasing arrows symbol to encourage broader changes in your community?

    Sinclair Boggs's avatar
    Sinclair Boggs 7/21/2023 8:13 AM
Sharing the manta "when in doubt throw it out" is, unfortunately, one of the ways to make sure the recycling that does happen has a better chance of being successful.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Study Plastic History Buff
How has learning about the history of single-use plastic shifted your mindset on plastics and their function within society?

    Sinclair Boggs's avatar
    Sinclair Boggs 7/21/2023 8:11 AM
Wow, yes! I had no idea that plastics first came about as an alternative to natural resources - namely ivory! When plastic is purposefully created as single-use as a way to get consumers to buy and dispose of products over and over again is where the problem really lies.

I already picked up two pieces of trash from the ground today on my way into work.
