Only used one piece of plastic so far today with my meals! Small triumph. :)

Had so much plastic guilt with my delivered food order yesterday. Will work towards neutralizing that with the food I eat today. Very difficult to be plastic free all the time, balance is important!

Sad how many straws and plastic cups were used where I had lunch today. So much waste. I'll ask for a real glass next time, should I even go back.

Learning about plastic production was tough in the sense that it's crazy how great the health effects can be and how there is no way to avoid it.
  • Reflection Question
Community Learn about the Harms of Plastic Production
What did you learn about how plastic production impacts humans, animals, communities, and the environment? Which of these impacts specifically affects your community?

Although I was somewhat aware of some of the ways Plastic production impacts humans, I did not realize how far spread these impacts are. Essentially, all things we ingest or have contact with contain some amount of plastic, or at least it's very likely they do. As far as which directly effect my community, I'd say all of them. It's in the air, it's in the water that surrounds us and the food we eat. If people could just use less companies may be forced to produce less too.

I'm packing for a move at the end if the month and am reusing every single-use plastic bag, Styrofoam cup and paper bag that I have saved to recycle. Reusing like a boss!

Had a really large trash haul today but was happy to find that my neighbors picked up almost all of their fireworks trash. :)
