I have never bought a linen shirt before, but love it already! I live in a hot and humid climate and even long sleeve linen shirts are great at keeping you cool in the summer heat and humidity. So not only am I living more sustainably, I'm staying cool as well.

Despite my goal of trying to buy whole produce to avoid packaging, there are still some items that only come in plastic containers, this was a good chunk of my plastic waste. I will continue to search for alternative buying options such as farmer's markets and local farms/pick your own produce.

How does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?

There are a lot of great second hand stores (brick and mortar and online) so buying second hand is just as easy as ever. I love buying clothes I love, getting great deals and living more sustainably at the same time!

Currently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?

Through purchasing toothpaste tablets in a glass jar, I am telling manufacturers that I desire them to use alternatives to plastic for packaging. This can be an example and encouragement to my friends and family and possibly provide better purchasing options for our community.
