Share My Actions
One of the best ways we can create change in our communities is simply by talking about it! This month, I will make my environmental actions visible by sharing about them on my social media networks and the Plastic Free Ecochallenge participant feed.
Community
Advocate for Office Reusables
I will lobby my workplace to have reusable dishes and silverware in order to minimize disposables.
Community
Share my "why"
I will record a 15-20 second video sharing why I am taking action for the planet.
Community
Become a Recycling Pro
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 15 minutes researching which materials are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community and recycle only those items.
Community
Embrace Imperfection
Eliminating 100% of all plastic from our lives simply isn't possible. Throughout this month, I will embrace imperfection in my plastic-free journey while exploring and testing new ways to reduce my plastic footprint.
Community
Take the pre-survey!
Help us make the Plastic Free Ecochallenge the best it can be! Take the challenge pre-survey (and look out for the post-survey at the end of the challenge!) so we can better understand the impact the challenge has and how we can improve in the future. Plus, you'll earn points for completing it! Thank you!

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow has embracing imperfection impacted your plastic-free journey?
Dani Wenger 7/10/2024 6:39 AMIt helps me put less pressure on myself to always be plastic-free, but by just being aware of it and taking steps to reduce it (such as getting refillable liquid soaps for my house instead of buying a new soap every time) will help in the long run. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?
Dani Wenger 7/10/2024 6:37 AMI've learned quite a bit of what can and can't be recycled with 4R through experience and also learned that pizza boxes can be recycled if they have minimal grease on them - it's just the super grease-soaked boxes that can't be recycled.
