    Hello Team,

Today is the last day of our monthly eco-challenge and I want to thank you all so much for participating!  It sure has been a fun, yet challenging month practicing plastic reduction and environmental sustainability.  And, keep in mind that each one of your contributions to planet earth has made a difference to ALL the species that inhabit it.

My ask is that you keep this movement going by continuing to learn about the environment, sharing what you have learned with love ones, demanding change from policy makers and voting with your dollar!  I also hope to see you again next year to keep this conversation and our actions growing.

I'd also like to give a huge shout out to our top point earner Chantelle!  Way to go!  I'm so proud of everyone on this team, but I'd also like to mention Shaina, Erin, Tami,  Jirenia and Oliver for scoring so many points!  A huge high-five to you all as well.  If you were in one of the top 3 point earning positions, please send us (allcreaturespod@gmail.com) your email and mailing address as I would like to send you a special eco-friendly thank you gift :)

Thanks again for all your hard work.  Please stay in touch with us on Facebook and Instagram.

    Angie

There is no doubt that human have had a major impact on planet earth.  I am most concerned about the how the damage will impact my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Will they be able to see rhinos in the wild, or swim in clean oceans?

  • Reflection Question
    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

I think products starting amassing so much plastic as an attempt to reduce food contamination and to give people a sense of security that the product they are buying is 'clean' or 'safe.'  Also, people have gotten busier and are cooking less, so they like the convenience of the packaged processed foods and snacks.

I really think all the crazy amount of plastic packaging is really only serving the producer because plastic is cheaper than alternative packaging.

    Family Use Reusable Baby Wipes

There are several ways I try to be an environmental role model for my children.  A lot of it comes in the form of actions followed by conversations about why I want to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic and keep our environment clean and safe.  Kids love to learn and love to engage in conversations...so, it's up to me in what types of conversations I have with them.  I also try to get the kids involved in our families eco-friendly choices when shopping and out about in the community.
