Today, my seven year old picked up some trash at a local park and threw it in the trash :) He was super proud of himself and so was I :)

Chris Mortensen 7/16/2024 3:29 PMWe almost always hang dry our laundry. Coming to New Zealand from the USA it was almost foreign to me. NOW, I love it because I know we are using nature to dry and even bleach our clothes!! -
Angie Adkin-Miot 7/16/2024 7:51 AMI am usually pretty good remembering our reusable water bottles...however, yesterday on the way to the beach, I realized I forgot them. But, I was pleasantly surprised to find water in an aluminum bottle for sale at a local deli :) And, these bottles can be used over and over as well. Yay!

Angie Adkin-Miot 7/14/2024 7:13 AMI think getting children and young people more involved in creative solutions on how to address the plastic pollution would be very beneficial to this global problem. Children are already so creative and caring about animals and the environment they live in...so let's get them more involved in the solutions. -

Happy second week of the eco-challenge! How has everyone been doing? I've been on holiday with my family in Michigan, with poor internet connection. But, the cool thing with this platform is that you can log your daily actions from back dates so that you don't miss out on earning points.
We go to the beach almost everyday, so I spend time picking up beach trash. I've also done a lot of vegetarian cooking with items bought from a local farmers market. I have my purse loaded with metal straws and reusable spoons (ice cream for the kids). And, this year my favorite challenge category is 'Spend Time Outside,' - yes please...I can do that :)
