    Kitchen Skip Plastic Bags
It can be easy to forget to bring your reusable bags to the store with you - especially if you're going somewhere besides the grocery store. What are your favorite ways to remember your reusable bags?

Kitchen Is it trash...or a trash bag?
It's only "single-use" if it's only used once! What are some other creative ways to reuse unavoidable "single-use" items?

Plastic grocery bags can be reused in multiple ways such as: a lunch bag, a dog waste bag, a rain cap for hair, waterproof seat cover, cover for when dying hair, trash bags for small trash cans, litter scoop holder, dirty shoe covers, etc. The list can be infinite when we get creative!

    Kitchen Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

Well my fur babies definitely love to munch on my green beans and peas from my garden so I'd have to say the animals get to enjoy it as well! It's also just beautiful to have surround you, very visually pleasing!

This morning on my way to work I heard PFJ represented on NPR. I found the story and linked it below in case you'd like to listen or read too. It's full of some great tips and reasons for participating and going plastic free. Take a listen here:

    https://www.npr.org/2024/07/12/nx-s1-5021545/plastic-free-july-sustainability-tips#:~:text=This%20level%20of%20plastic%20waste,recycling%20facility%20in%20Western%20Australia.

My favorite point made is that plastic and the convenience of a lot of the unnecessary single-use plastics that we use represents our busy lifestyles, and if we change some of those habits it may increase our overall wellness. I think living sustainably goes hand in hand with living mindfully and fully. Doing this challenge together is also a great way to feel part of a community!

Went to the beach Sunday morning for sunrise and picked up a whole Ikea bags worth of trash! While it wasn't an organized event, little initiatives like these help our planet!

Instead of using individual doggie poop bags I have started keeping one bag and picking up with a paper towel.

    Bedroom Catch Those Microfibers
Which microfiber solution did you choose? How has it changed your laundry routine?

I switched to a microfiber cleaning solution I purchased on Amazon.com, it came in a clear, glass bottle for $32.99. Using this solution I've learned I actually use less product and my clothes still come out clean with a fresh scent.

    Bedroom Use What You Have
Besides the economic benefits of using the things we already own, how can this practice impact our lives in other ways and influence the way we interact with "things"?

Reusing what we already own not only has a positive impact on the environment, but it also creates a sense of appreciation of your "things". Rather than constantly tossing things to the side and buying brand new items, having to care for and resuse items creates stronger responsibility within an individual and appreciation of the item for what it provides.

    Community Keep My Community Clean
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

I feel when I take initiative in picking up trash in the community, I'm showing those around me (especially children) that we all are responsible in creating a beautiful and clean space for us all to enjoy.
