I would like to say that I really enjoy how they updated the daily actions as well as the one-time actions. The revamp has made it much easier to keep track of what I have already been doing as well as the new ones. Thanks for the revamp.

This has been a really great challenge for me this year. Social justice as it relates to the environment has been a focus of mine for over a year and I really appreciated that most of the learning challenges had social justice tied to the topics.

    Bedroom Rethink Returns
How has learning what happens to returns influenced how you make purchasing decisions?

I listened to the 'What Happens to all the Stuff we Return' podcast and it was very informative! Having this knowledge will definitely influence my purchasing decisions going forward by not ordering more than I need to try on different sizes, purchasing local in order to try on shoes/clothes so a return is not necessary, etc.

Maybe it wasn't a podcast...just an article I listened to! Sorry for the mis-information.

If you have any upcoming painting projects, they make great drop cloths!

It’s hard to use up leftover items like shampoos when you find another you like so much better, but I will keep trying to find a way to work it in…

Even before July began, I started reviewing my plastic consumption. One of the simple things that I did was to thinkg about the reuse of one-time use plastics in other ways. One being the plastic bowl and steamer tray from Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers. They work really well if you're reheating something in the microwave that you don't want all dry and rubbery. Place a little water in the bottom, add your item to the steamer tray and conveniently use a second bowl as the lid. Presto a personal steamer that you've reused! Those bowls and trays area also recyclable! Just make sure to wash them before placing them in the recycle bin!

I’m a little surprised that KC doesn’t accept glass as a recyclable, especially as it’s one of the easiest things to recycle. Probably a safety concern. Fun fact: glass that’s been ground up and ready to be recycled is called “cullet”.

    Kitchen Plastic-Free Produce Storage
In the United States, 30-40% of all edible food goes to waste. What are some other ways you can reduce food waste in your home?

If I have leftover vegetables or fruit from a recipe, I will prep and cut food, then put it in a glass container or Stasher silicon bag and freeze it. Some frozen items I have now are blueberries, mushrooms, green beans, peppers, and onions. I’ve done the same with soups in containers called Souper Cubes.

It has helped me a lot this year because I don't give up on it quite so easily. It makes it an easier thought to keep in mind daily as well.
