I definitely feel like I could have done more, but I learned a lot about the history of plastic, the difficulty of actually recycling most of it, and many ways to make small changes to my daily life that can help reduce the usage of plastics.

Plastic has become unavoidable. We see it at home, we see it at work, and we see it in our cars. Unfortunately, we also see it in our streets, in our rivers, in our oceans....and while we may not see it, it is also in our air, in our food, and in our water! It may have its purpose, but it has now created serious problems for all. We need to at...

Lots of positive feedback on how nice it looked. Two, I was STUNNED when we went to take out the trash and recycling the next morning. Normally we have to plan to make...

Recycling might help reduce trash and pollution problems, but the fact is that the recycling rate in the U.S. is only about 30%. The best thing is to minimize the use of resources to begin with, this way minimizing or avoiding disruption and pollution of the environment during the extraction and manufacturing process. In an era where everything...

When I was kid we did an experiment with my elementary school that involved writing a note, sticking it inside a ballon, and releasing the balloon in hopes that it would be found and the replied to. Kind of like a message in a bottle. Even then I was like, "Isn't this just trash we're leaving, though?" I've read casually on the...

I can find opportunities to reduce my carbon and plastic footprints and to replace and reuse the things I use everyday. I can research more ways to help, donate, educate others, and volunteer to make a difference in these areas.

It is going pretty well. I was excited to complete the challenge and look forward to continuing these new habits even after the challenge is over.
