Thank you so much everyone for participating this year! We all did an excellent job and it's exciting to see how much our cumulative efforts have added up :)

This month was really interesting to see all the ups and downs; there were both good and bad days but it was really eye opening to see all the different changes we can truly make in our life time!

By looking at my most recent recycling and trash run, my waste audit is a lot different than what it used to be. I’ve learned that I can recycle more of the items I have/ receive or buy, and a lot of my trash waste has just become food scraps and simple materials that I can’t recycle because of what is accepted. One thing I’ve pinpointed that I...

Ever since looking into the field of wildlife, this has been one of the main topics at the forefront of my mind. It always pains me whenever I see a loose balloon float away or a lantern show being promoted. One way I would love to promote balloon free celebrations is by making my own decision and persuading my friends to do the same.

Ending this PFJ and calling it a mixed bag of success for this year. On a last note, I am mulling over a piece of news I saw coming out of Germany. A grocery chain there picked nine items to sell for one week at prices reflective of their true ecosystem/environmental cost. In some cases, these items were 94% more expensive because they...

Last day! Upon reflecting on everything this month, I still feel that the biggest action we can all take against single use plastic is to advocate companies to own the responsibility. Major changes will only come from the producers - citizens currently have few plastic-alternative choices and that needs to change. Once plastic is created it is...

Got to tour my local waste place on base. They do an awful job and I have already reached out on ways to help improve.

I am very grateful for this opportunity. I try my best everyday to make some better choices for our environment because without it, we wouldn't survive. This whole month also taught me that having to be a little more focused on less plastic packaging, I am eating healthier! Extra bonus!

I love sharing economy's! It's how it was in the old days and should continue to be. We are social creatures and it takes a village to raise each other up appropriately. =] When we have a sharing economy, I think we get back in touch with our emotional wellbeing and better appreciation for things around us.
