I was not surprised by the plastic identification numbers because my community in Colorado in the 1990s already had this information well understood, which helps me sort recyclables more effectively.

Learning about the history of single-use plastic has shifted my mindset by highlighting its environmental toll and questioning its convenience-driven role in society.

I learned that plastic production harms humans, animals, communities, and the environment by causing pollution and health issues, with my community being particularly affected by local water contamination and wildlife disruption.

I continue to use reusable bags for shopping and op for paper over plastic when available.

It was a nice surprise to see my daughters' refrigerator food stored in mason jars! We discussed nano plastics and alternative options.

Yeah, I used my ancient cloth bags when grocery shopping this afternoon, but I the asparagus got stuck in a plastic bag, the berries came in a plastic container, and the salmon was shrink-wrapped. #fail

I am doing better! I have taken a deeper look at what is recyclable in this fair city, collected a good amount of cell phones for recycling and I have gotten household members to do their best to use their fancy nylon bag at the grocery store. It's been a good week so far!
