I know I’m late to the bread baking but my friend gave me a sourdough starter and I’m so excited! I named it St. Yeasterbasket (but Breadpool and Bready White are amazing options). Great job this month everyone! I dare you to keep up your actions 😉

Did buy the paint with best intentions to paint two walls of one of the rooms that needs some touch up.... but did not get to the chore yet, so plastic free efforts will continue past July!

Hey Guys! I wanted to share this resource I found as well for recycling odd items, especially those with mixed plastic and other parts. I have a bunch of old computer equipment (keyboards, stereo speakers, etc) and this place takes lots of items. Hope it can help to keep more items out of our landfills and oceans: http://www.ohiodropoff.com/what.html

I am making this toothepaste tonight! Here's a link to a great resource, Trash is for Tossers. The founder, Lauren Singer, is leading a zero-waste life and has a really cool and inspiring story. Check it out to learn lots of easy tips and methods to going plastic free! https://trashisfortossers.com/my-zero-waste-homemade-toothpaste-recipe/

Well everyone it's the last day of the plastic free ecochallenge. We all have done some great work. Whether it was in research, clean up, or reduction. Great job everybody! Keep reducing plastic!
  • Reflection Question
Food Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?

While on vacation, it ca be challenging to remain plastic free.  When visiting new places we did make sure to support local restaurants.

I had hoped to join a clean-up effort during our Plastic Free July challenge, but was unable to complete pull this goal off.  However! i did research ways in which to develop a community clean-up effort along our O'Shaughnessy north of the Zoo, and resources for other community clean-up efforts through City of Columbus.  You can visit this link to find resources as well!   https://www.columbus.gov/volunteers/

I enjoyed getting to clean up. I was simple and beneficial. It was great getting to do something that might be small but still make a difference.
