July 31 at 8:04 PMThis year’s challenge was fun—like last year I wanted to see how well I would do with some daily actions that I was already trying to make into habits. Next year I want to CHALLENGE myself to pick up some activities that I’ve never done before.

July 31 at 4:48 PMOld electronics are usually only considered old by their current owner. If that tech isn't broken, someone (somewhere) could probably use it just as well as if it were brand new. Taking the electronics to a business to get fixed up probably has the potential to double their lifespan for its new owner.

July 31 at 4:29 PMI usually trust my eyes and my nose when it comes to purchasing or discarding food nearing their expiration dates--they're not always accurate!
-
July 31 at 4:25 PMPotentially every single-use item can be harmful. If it's only meant to be used once, think about how quickly someone can just discard it on the ground and leave it to rot. When it doesn't break down, the impact on the environment from all of these items piles up!

Participants post just about anything on the site from used clothes, partial packages of items that are new, such as diapers that have been outgrown, and even services. I...

July 31 at 4:12 PMBath time is more enjoyable for both me and the dog when the bath bubbles I'm using are good for her health and great for the environment. I have a soap-lady that supplies my sustainable dog shampoo.

July 31 at 4:09 PMI've noticed that as I run out of certain bath and beauty products, I can actually go without a replacement a lot of the time--some of those purchases were frivolous from the start so once I used it up this month I agreed to "no more".

July 31 at 4:04 PMJust about everything made out of plastic could be potentially harmful to humans. It pollutes our lands and waterways as it enters the ecosystem. It gets into the food chain and eventually into us.
-
July 31 at 4:01 PMBefore doing some research on returns, I didn't realize how much is just thrown away or wasted. I would rather donate the item or give it to a friend than waste it, even if I took a financial loss. I definitely think through purchases more and try to get clothes and other items in brick and mortar stores where I can try on or see the items in...
